The Schlegeis reservoir, nestled against the impressive backdrop of the Zillertal Alps, is a fascinating excursion destination at 1,800 meters above sea level. With a 725-metre-long and 131-metre-high dam wall, the lake not only offers spectacular views, but also hiking and climbing opportunities. Zillertal High Road
The Zillertaler Höhenstraße is one of the most beautiful Alpine roads in Austria and offers breathtaking panoramic views of the Zillertal Alps. The winding route takes you to an altitude of over 2,000 meters and stretches for around 48 kilometers, where you will find magnificent viewpoints, rustic alpine huts and a variety of hiking opportunities. It is one of the highest Alpine roads in Austria and offers five different ascents from various locations in the valley. The road is open from May to October and is ideal for cars, motorcycles and bicycles.
